Ohio Goldenrod thrives in moist conditions where most other goldenrods will not. It is further distinguished from its cousins by its smooth leaves and, importantly for the gardener, its comparatively less aggressive nature. The goldenrod’s saturated yellow flowers add a brilliant color pop to the garden as they provide nectar and pollen for insects late in the season when the flowers of most other native plants have wilted. Plays an important role as larval host to numerous species of moths.
