Wild Hyacinth boasts central stalks that terminate in dense spikes of white or pale blue, star-shaped flowers that bloom from bottom to top in late spring and early summer. These blooms have a lovely fragrance and delicate, eye-catching stamens that reach out well beyond the petals. Come midsummer after its blooms fade, the slender green leaves wither as well and the plant goes dormant until the following spring. It is a wonderful companion plant to neighbors that have a later start and fill out the empty space left behind in the latter half of the growing season. A versatile plant that can tolerate a variety of soil conditions.
