Amsonia tabernaemontana- Eastern Bluestar

Eastern Bluestar is named for its captivating clusters of small, blue star-shaped flowers that keep the plant buzzing with a diverse array of pollinators throughout its bloom time. These showy inflorescences grace the tops of long slender stems lined with a lush foliage that emerges a lime green color before darkening in the summer and turning a striking yellow color in the fall, providing multi-season interest. Its upright and mounding habit is such that it takes on a shrub-like appearance, with more mature plants spreading as wide as they are tall. A milky latex inside the leaves and stems make it unpalatable to deer and rabbits.
