Carex muskingumensis-Palm Sedge

Palm Sedge sports dense green foliage that bursts forth from its central stems, branching out to create a spiky appearance that is said to resemble palm fronds. It grows up to 3ft tall, providing support for its taller neighbors, and will spread rhizomatically under the right conditions. It provides interest throughout the season with thick brown seed heads and leaves that turn yellow in the fall. It prefers wetter soil and tolerates some shade but will flop without enough sun.
