Asclepias sullivantii- Prairie Milkweed

From midsummer to early fall, Prairie Milkweed boasts clusters of elegant, domed flowerheads adorned with intricate, star-shaped blooms in shades of soft pink to pale lavender. These flowers attract a myriad of pollinators, most notably the Monarch, which relies on milkweed for food and habitat at every point in its lifecycle. Similar in appearance but more well-behaved than its cousin the Common Milkweed. Low-maintenance, hardy and drought tolerant. Deer and rabbit resistant.
